Tour Meadow Lake Wind Farm & BioTown USA
|
| Topic:
The Meadow Lake Wind Farm owned and operated by Horizon Wind Energy, an
EDP Renewable Company, is a multiphase commercial wind farm located in
the southwest corner of White County. The first four phases are complete
and consist of 303 turbines with an installed capacity of 500 megawatts.
This is enough electricity to power over 150,000 average Indiana homes
with clean energy each year.
The Anaerobic Digester at BioTown USA uses organic products to generate
methane gas and generates three megawatts of electricity. The Algaewheel
at BioTown USA uses algae based technology to produce electricity, biofuels,
and fertilizers. A guided tour of all three projects is included with
this trip.
